Who is this course suitable for?

No previous experience is required. This course is perfect for beginners or for someone who has already gained some experience on the wheel and wants to deepen it.

Who is teaching?

Your teacher is Sharman Riegger, Antonia Joubert or Ella Brew, according to your choice.

Sharman (he/his) is co-founder and one of the two owners of Clayers Collective. Before studying art, he completed an apprenticeship as a potter for three years with Uwe Löllmann, where he intensively studied Japanese wood-firing techniques. Various stays in Japan have shaped his understanding of ceramics and arts and crafts.

Antonia Joubert (she/her) is a ceramicist and founder of antonia maria • studio. After studying interior design in Nantes, France, she completed an apprenticeship as a ceramist. Her considered approach to local materials was inspired by an internship at Atelier Joaquim Pombal in Porto, Portugal. This experience reinforced her passion for teaching the different aspects of the craft.

Ella Brew (they/them) is a multimedia artist interested in the joy and empowerment that comes from learning new skills and creating functional objects. Brew enjoys combining wheel-thrown pieces with handbuilding techniques, designing tableware, and experimenting with new processes. They are endlessly amazed by the various worlds the field of ceramics contains.

The course is held in German and / or English, depending on the needs of the participants. Ella Brew’s classes will be held in English.
