You are passionate about making pottery on the wheel and would like to deepen your throwing skills?
This 4-week wheel throwing pottery course is for anyone who has already participated in the Beginners Wheel course or a comparable several-week pottery course.
During this course, you will have plenty of time to learn how to throw small and medium-sized plates with their special requirements. The following steps, such as trimming and glazing plates, also require special techniques. Your needs and wishes can be taken care of during the course.

Course Content:
Preparing the clay, wedging
Centering different amounts of clay on the wheel
Throwing on wooden boards
Learning hand positions and techniques for throwing different plate shapes
Special requirements for trimming plates
Glazing of all pieces in the last session
Material and firing costs are included in the course fee.

We offer the following dates:
October/November:
Tuesday course: 07.10., 14.10., 21.10., 04.11. >> 18:00 - 20:30 with Sharman (2 spots available)

Please note that we will skip one week before the glazing class to fire all your pieces.

Who is this course suitable for?
It is required that you have already done a longer course (e.g. Beginners Wheel) and feel comfortable with smaller amounts of clay. Ideally, you have already attended an advanced course. What you can learn in this course will depend on the skills you have already acquired. If you are not completely sure whether this course is the right format for you, please feel free to contact us.

Who is teaching?
Your teacher is Sharman Riegger.
Sharman Riegger (he/his) is co-founder and one of the owners of Clayers Collective. Before studying art, he completed an apprenticeship as a potter for three years with Uwe Löllmann, where he intensively studied Japanese wood-firing techniques. Various stays in Japan have shaped his understanding of ceramics and arts and crafts.
The course is held in German and / or English, depending on the needs of the participants. If you have a particular preference, please let us know in advance.

Up to 14 days before the first class starts, the course fee is 100 % refundable.
Up to 10 days before the first class date, the course can be rebooked for another course if the participant is unable to attend. If there is no suitable offer among the currently available courses, we will issue a voucher for a future booking.
If less than 10 days before the first course date, the course place can be transferred to another person. The contact details of the new course participant must be given to us in writing in advance. The above conditions still apply.
